The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) issued a statement on December 23, 2021,regarding the executions in Iran under the rule of a religious dictatorship within just one month.
Full text of the statement as follows:
On Sunday, December 19, 2021, the clerical regime executed a female prisoner named Fatemeh Aslani in Isfahan Prison and three prisoners named Hamed Darvish, Naeem Shahbakhsh, and Abdol Khaled Salarzehi in Shiraz Prison. The day before that, a prisoner named Hadi Shahriari was hanged in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on Saturday, December 18.
Thus, the number of executions registered in the Iranian calendar month of Azar (November 22 to December 21, 2021) is at least 39 prisoners, including seven women and three people under 18 years old at the time of the arrest. The number of recorded executions since the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi as president and Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje’i as the judiciary chief has reached 210.
By intensifying repression and increasing executions, the ruling religious fascism in Iran is trying in vain to clamp down on public anger and outrage against the regime and to prevent the uprisings that will end its regime. This regime cannot last a day without execution and repression. The continuation and expansion of relations with the ruling clerical regime in Iran should be contingent on the halt of executions and torture. The regime’s human rights dossier of four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide should be referred to the UN Security Council, and the leaders of this regime, especially Khamenei, Raisi, and Eje’i, must be brought to justice.
