The US State Department released the report entitled: “2021 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: Iran”. In this report, US State Department lists the human rights violations in Iran by the mullahs’ regime in the section on Iran.

A summary of this report is as follows:

Human rights Organizations and UN Special Rapporteur Javaid Rehman called for an independent inquiry into state-ordered executions of thousands of political prisoners in 1988, including the role played by current regime President Ebrahim Raisi as Tehran’s deputy prosecutor at the time.

Maryam Akbari Monfared has been imprisoned for nearly 12 years for seeking justice for her siblings, who were disappeared and xtrajudicially executed in secret in 1988.

Authorities originally tried and convicted Akbari Monfared on charges of supporting the opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Authorities publicly interrogated physics students Ali Younesi and Amir Hossein Moradi, both arrested in April 2020 on charges of affiliation with the MEK.
