On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the “No to Executions Tuesdays” campaign entered its 70th consecutive week, with prisoners in Fardis Prison in Karaj joining for the first time—bringing the total number of participating prisons to 45.
🔴 70th week of “No to Execution Tuesdays”: Now 45 prisons united as Karaj’s Fardis Prison joins the hunger strike.
Over 170 executed in 1 month—1 every 9 hours.
A cry from inside Iran:

In this week’s statement, inmates highlighted the shocking execution of over 170 individuals during the Iranian month of Ordibehesht (April 21–May 21). Alarmingly, 19% of those executed were from the marginalized Baluch community. The prisoners condemned these acts, declaring:
“This inhumane behavior by the dictatorship against minorities and the Iranian people is a blatant example of crimes against humanity and a severe violation of human rights.”
Simultaneous with the 70th week of the No to Execution Tuesdays, families of death-row prisoners protested the death penalty.

The full statement from the campaign’s 70th week reads:
With deep sorrow, we witness that the execution of prisoners under this authoritarian regime has not ceased. In fact, the pace has intensified. Over 170 executions in one month means a person is executed every nine hours in Iran. Among them, nearly 1 in 5 victims were our oppressed Baluch compatriots, who face systemic discrimination and injustice.
As prisoners of conscience, we call on human rights defenders and all those who envision a free and equal Iran to amplify the voices of the oppressed. The Iranian regime violates fair trial standards and ruthlessly executes Baluch, Kurdish, Arab, and ideological prisoners—stripping them of their fundamental right to life.
We urge those with access to international platforms to echo our cry: “No to Execution.” Every execution under this regime is political, not merely punitive. It reflects a corrupt and broken judicial system that uses fear to suppress dissent. As Iran’s crises deepen, so does the regime’s reliance on violence and executions.
Remaining silent is not an option. For weeks, families of political prisoners, youth, and freedom-seeking citizens have gathered outside prisons and around the world to protest these killings and support the campaign.
In a powerful act of civil resistance, female prisoners at Evin Prison chant “No to Execution” every Tuesday during family visitation protests. This unity—both inside and outside prison—is a beacon of courage. The slogan “No to Execution” must echo in every corner of our society.
This week, inmates at Fardis Prison have joined the campaign and launched a hunger strike to protest the state’s execution machine.
