Tuesday, October 28, 2025 – In the 92nd week of Iran’s “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, the movement has expanded to 54 prisons, as inmates from Borujerd and Ilam joined the nationwide protest against the death penalty.
According to the Human Rights Center of Iran, political prisoners across the country continued their weekly hunger strike on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, defying the regime’s execution wave. October has been marked as the bloodiest month in decades, with at least 283 executions, including 7 political prisoners, 7 women, and 2 minors.
New Death Sentences and Widespread Executions
This week’s campaign statement condemned the confirmation of death sentences for Manouchehr Fallah and Ehsan Faridi, along with new death verdicts for Kavous Abdollahzadeh and Zahra Tabari. It described these rulings as a “deliberate attempt to spread fear and suppress the Iranian people’s cry for freedom.”
Since last Tuesday alone, 59 executions have been recorded, including those of two women. Authorities also attempted to transfer Ehsan Afrafteh from Evin Prison for execution, but fellow inmates resisted, preventing the move for now. His life remains in imminent danger.
Families and Prisoners Unite Against the Regime’s Killing Machine
Despite the regime’s escalating brutality, resistance continues to grow inside the prisons. Families of those on death row rallied this week in front of the Iranian Parliament, chanting “No to Execution”, reaffirming that the Iranian people’s desire for freedom and justice cannot be silenced.
“Execution is a criminal tool of tyranny. No justification—religious or political—can legitimize the deprivation of human life. Each execution is a wound on society and a symbol of the regime’s moral and legal bankruptcy.”
Campaign Expands to 54 Prisons Nationwide
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, now in its 92nd consecutive week, continues across 54 prisons including Evin, Ghezel Hesar, Central Karaj, Greater Tehran, Qarchak, Qom, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Rasht, Tabriz, Urmia, Sanandaj, Mahabad, Kamyaran, Borujerd, and Ilam — amplifying the cry for life and justice from behind bars.
The campaign calls on the international community to demand an immediate halt to all executions, the annulment of all death sentences, and unrestricted access for international human rights organizations to Iranian prisons.
