As the 97th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign unfolds on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, voices from inside 55 prisons across Iran once again rise in defiance against the regime’s machinery of death. This week’s statement—issued on the eve of Student Day—highlights both the historic role of Iran’s student movement and the urgent danger facing 23-year-old political prisoner and student, Ehsan Faridi, who is now under the threat of execution for defending freedom.
Student Day and the Enduring Legacy of Resistance
Since December 7, 1953, Iran’s universities have stood as the frontline of resistance against dictatorship. The movement’s sacrifices—such as the case of Saeed Zeynali, disappeared since the 1999 dormitory attack—symbolize the price generations of students have paid in the struggle for liberty.
Yet repression has failed to silence them. Today, the regime once again targets the student community, demonstrating its fear of an awakened society.
A Wave of Executions that Shocks Even Iran’s Dark Record
In the first ten days of Azar alone, nearly 100 prisoners were executed—two of them women—and one execution was carried out publicly to intimidate the population.
Since March 20, 2025, the total number of executions has reached 1,564, marking the highest level in three decades. This unprecedented brutality has ignited global condemnation of the regime’s execution-driven repression.

A Call for Unity Against the Execution Machine
The prisoners’ statement urges students, activists, and all freedom-seeking Iranians to raise their collective voice against death sentences and to stand with the families who tirelessly seek justice. Amplifying the message of “No to Execution” is described as essential to stripping the regime of its chief instrument of terror and clearing the path toward Iran’s liberation.
Hunger Strike in 55 Prisons Across Iran
For the 97th consecutive week, political prisoners in 55 prisons—including facilities such as Evin, Qezel Hesar, Greater Tehran Penitentiary, Qarchak, Sheiban, Adelabad, and Zahedan—are launching a coordinated hunger strike.
Their united action underscores the nationwide scale of dissent and the determination of Iran’s prisoners to resist, despite relentless pressure.
