In its 134th week, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign has entered a more expansive phase, marked by Gachsaran Prison joining the movement and a coordinated hunger strike across 60 prisons nationwide. Warning of an alarming surge in executions, with at least 39 political executions recorded since the beginning of the year, the campaign condemned these executions as a tool of suppression used by the regime to stifle protests.
While honoring the victims of the 1988 summer massacre, the campaign’s members called on the international community and protesting nations to condition all diplomatic and trade relations with the Islamic Republic upon the complete halt of its execution machine.

Expansion of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign to 60 Prisons in Its 134th Week
May the memory of all political prisoners who lost their lives in the bloody summer of 1988 be honored and eternal.
On the anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners in the summer of 1988—recognized as a “crime against humanity” by Mr. Javaid Rehman, the former UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights—we honor the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and equality. We hope that the perpetrators and masterminds of this inhumane tragedy will soon be brought to justice before a court of law.
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign seeks justice for every single one of these dear individuals and all those executed by the ruling dictatorship in Iran. Over the past week, the tyrannical regime brutally hanged Shahram Sadeghi, a political prisoner from the 2026 January uprising, in Karaj.
With the execution of Shahram Sadeghi, along with Mohammad (Cherag) Afroukhteh, who was recently executed in Zahedan, the number of political prisoners executed since the beginning of the Iranian year 1405 has reached at least 39. This figure serves as a grave warning for many other political and non-political prisoners currently on death row.
Executions Continue Despite Widespread Protests
Despite widespread protests, the Velayat-e Faqih [clerical] regime has never ceased its executions, as it sees its survival as dependent on suppression and the death penalty.
In recent months, the rate of executions surged to such an extent that—following 134 continuous weeks of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign and its repeated reports to the public and various institutions, alongside widespread protests by the people and anti-death penalty activists—32 different countries around the world finally issued a highly significant statement calling for an immediate halt to executions in Iran.
We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, urge all these countries to make their efforts to stop the execution machine effective by conditioning all their diplomatic and trade relations with the Iranian regime upon the complete cessation of executions.
Furthermore, we once again call upon all awakened consciences to be the voice of this campaign and of all those sentenced to death in Iran, and to continuously take action in any way possible.
