The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) issued a statement regarding the protests of Isfahan farmers.
The text of this statement is as follows:

Friday, November 12, 2021, thousands of people and farmers of Isfahan gathered for the fifth day running, to protest against being deprived of their water rights, water shortages, and the drying up of the Zayandeh Rud River. Several farmers have been holding a sit-in on the Zayandeh Riverbed for the past five days by setting up tents.

Recalling regime leader’s empty promises, Isfahan farmers chanted, “(Ebrahim) Raisi, this is the last warning.” The demonstrators also chanted: “We will obtain our water rights even if we have to sacrifice our lives,” “The nation has never seen so much injustice,” “Zayandeh Rud water is our inalienable right,” “Give Zayandeh Rud back, let Isfahan breath.”

The Iranian Resistance hailed the oppressed farmers of Isfahan and called on the young people and the people of Isfahan to support and show solidarity with the farmers.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said in this regard, “Hail to the oppressed farmers of Isfahan. Brave women and men who cry out for their rights and do not back down. Continue your defense of Zayanderood and the farmers’ water quota, and reinforce your unity and solidarity”.

“I call on my compatriots to stand up to the mullahs’ thievery and oppression that have destroyed the country’s land, environment and economic infrastructure”.
