Iran: Isfahan Protests Continue Throughout the Night

Isfahan Protests Continue Throughout the Night — November 26, 2021
Isfahan Protests Continue Throughout the Night — November 26, 2021

Protests that began in Isfahan on Friday 26, 2021, continued throughout the night despite heavy crackdown.

Protesters chanted “Down with Khamenei” and “Down with dictator,” calling for the overthrow of the regime.

The heavy presence of security forces did not deter the protesters. Security forces and anti-riot units in Isfahan attacked the farmers’ peaceful demonstrations on Friday morning, November 26.

The farmers have been protesting water shortages and state management of water sources in the province.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said in this regard, “The mullahs’ criminal regime has made massive arrests during the Isfahan uprising. I urge everyone to object the detentions and lend support to the families of those arrested as a nationalistic duty.”

Mrs. Rajavi added, “I call on the U.N., all its member states, and the international human rights organization to take urgent action to secure the release of those arrested in Isfahan.”
