Thursday, December 2, 2021: Teachers, educators, and retirees across Iran held demonstrations, protesting the regime’s disregard for demands that they’ve been making for months.
The protesters demanded better salaries, classification laws, and release of detained teachers. The parliament recently approved a fraction of the budget teachers need. It is not nearly enough to address their needs.
Another bill that addresses the retired teachers’ necessities has been constantly postponed by the parliament. Active and retired teachers have been holding protests for several months. Most Iranian teachers live in poverty and struggle to meet their most basic needs.
According to the reports and videos in the social media, from different cities, teachers across the country protested their poor livelihoods while demanding better paychecks and an end to discrimination.

In this regard, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said, “I salute the freedom-loving teachers who have risen up all across Iran. By chanting, “Teachers would die but won’t submit,” they echo the cries of a nation who is fed up with the mullahs’ oppression and injustice.”

“Khamenei, Raisi, and his cabinet of IRGC terrorists and torturers squander the Iranian people’s assets to make bombs, missiles, and drones. Thus, they keep teachers and other sectors of society under the poverty line.”
The only way to confront the mullahs’ oppression is rising up. Only the outright rejection of religious fascism and establishment of democracy and national sovereignty can end poverty, corruption, high prices, discrimination and injustice. #IranProtests
