In the past weeks dozens of schools mostly all-girls schools have been targeted in Tehran, Qom, Kermanshah, Ardabil, and other cities.
Attackers have thrown poisonous gas against the targets, mostly all-girls schools. More than 900 schoolchildren have fallen ill, suffering from severe breathing difficulties.
Regime officials have tried to downplay the situation. The health minister described the gas as “very light” and victims’ symptoms “very mild”.
Meanwhile, videos show that children are suffocating and struggling to breathe. The suspicious circumstances and the regime’s abysmal response has aroused parents’ outrage.
On March 1, students and parents protested to regime authorities for the ongoing attacks. Security forces attacked the parents instead of helping the victims.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi condemned the regime for “the deliberate poisoning of schoolgirls” as “revenge on girls active during the uprising”.
Mrs. Rajavi added: “I all advocates of human, children, and women’s rights to condemn the regime’s heinous crime. Urging UN special rapporteurs, UNCSW to immediately question the clerical regime. Calling WHO to send a delegation to deal with the tragedy.”
