Deadly Clashes in Fasa and Kuhdasht

Protesters stormed Fasa‘s governorate on December 31, 2025, prompting IRGC live fire and helicopter patrols; casualties reported despite denials. In Kuhdasht, clashes killed Basij member Amir Hossein Khodaeifar and injured 13 SSF/Basij after protesters fought back against gunfire, attacking suppressive vehicles.

Widespread Strikes, Protests, and Slogans

Bazaar shutdowns gripped Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, Isfahan’s Bozorgmehr market, Kermanshah’s gold bazaars with “No Gaza, No Lebanon,” Shiraz’s Vakilabad, plus Tabriz, Ramhormoz, Asadabad, Dorud, Yasuj, Arak, Dehloran; chants of “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to the Dictator,” “This is the year of blood, Seyed Ali will be overthrown.” Nightly protests hit Khorramabad, Nahavand, Rasht, Shahr-e Qods, Baghmalek, Fuladshahr, Babol, Qeshm, Lali, Masjed Soleyman, Marlik, Tehran; Urmia youths shouted “Azerbaijan honorable, Pahlavi dishonorable.”

Regime Deploys Brutal Measures

Khamenei appointed IRGC Gen. Ahmad Vahidi deputy commander. Universities shifted online, Basij planned drills through April 2026; raids on Beheshti women’s dorm sparked chants of “Dishonorable”; fires set to Basij bases in Hamedan/Asadabad, Fuladshahr streets, Rasht motorcycle, Ramhormoz building.
