Iran Uprising Day 17 Report

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the seventeenth day of Iran’s nationwide uprising featured clashes between rebellious youths and regime forces in Tehran districts like Sadeghieh, Haft Howz, Piroozi, Teatr-e Shahr, Ashrafi Esfahani, Tehranpars, Valiasr, and Ekbatan Town. Protesters chanted “Death to the dictator” and “Death to Khamenei” at Behesht-e Zahra cemetery while carrying martyrs’ bodies. In Isfahan suburbs from Najafabad and Falavarjan to Sepahanshahr and Baharestan, demonstrators controlled areas and torched banks and a city council building in Malekshahr and Simin Intersection.

Nighttime Battles Intensify

Clashes raged in Kermanshah’s Taq-e Bostan with reinforcements from Qasr-e Shirin, Ravansar, and Javanrud; Mashhad saw a regime colonel and three Basij killed; Tabriz at Abrasan intersection; Shiraz, Ilam, and Karaj. In Ahvaz, regime erected concrete walls in Naderi district and Abdul-Hamid market; Dezful set checkpoints with barriers. Quchan youths seized the governor’s office and burned IRGC headquarters; Babol protesters disarmed Police Stations No. 2 and 14; Ilam locals killed IRGC officer Rahimi.

Morgues Overflow, Extortion Demands

Morgues in Tehran, Karaj, and Bandar Abbas piled bodies in courtyards; Kahrizak demanded 700 million tomans per body release. Judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i ordered speedy executions, labeling protesters “Mohareb” with no mercy. PMOI announced names of 38 more martyrs, including five women like Aida Heydari (21, Tehran) and Zahra Bohloulipour (19, Tehran), bringing prior toll over 3,000 by January 11.

NCRI Secretariat Statement

The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) highlighted protests in 207 cities despite martial law and internet blackout.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s Post on X

Mrs. Rajavi, in a post about the Tuesday night protests in Tehran and other cities, said: “On Tuesday night, Tehran and many other cities once again became the scene of direct confrontation between the people and rebellious youth on one side, and the regime’s violent IRGC forces on the other. Yet the fearless youth, alongside resolute women and girls, are bringing the clerical regime, despite all its brutality, to its knees and are paving the way for freedom and democracy. The regime’s escalating repressive measures across multiple cities, the deployment of heavy weapons into the streets, and the digital lockdown imposed on all of Iran only underscore Khamenei’s failure in the face of a people who have risen.”
