Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) sent a message on occasion of the new year 2023.

The full text of the message is as follows:

I congratulate you on the advent of 2023, which coincides with the Iranian people’s victorious uprising to end the ruling religious tyranny.

This uprising and revolution, led by women and youth, will bring freedom and prosperity to Iran and promote peace and justice in Ukraine, the Middle East, and across the globe.

May 2023 be the year of expanding international solidarity with the Iranian people’s uprising. The Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the mullahs’ theocracy in Iran must be recognized.

Doing so affirms that the just struggle of rebellious women and youth against Khamenei’s Revolutionary Guards is necessary and rightful. It would also echo the real voice of the world’s conscience.

May governments and international institutions respond without delay to the desire of the people of Iran who are enduring suppression, torture, and execution.

I urge the world to act to stop Khamenei’s brutal executions of detained protesters and all prisoners, especially the political prisoners.

I also congratulate the advent of 2023 to people around the world, particularly the friends and supporters of the Iranian people, uprising, and Resistance. A year, devoid of the misogynistic and tyrannical mullahs will be one, which herald freedom to the people of Iran and peace and friendship to the Middle East and the world.
