Gothenburg, Sweden—January 20, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized a rally to express support for the Iranian Revolution. Iranians celebrated the anniversary of Massoud Rajavi‘s release from the Shah regime’s prison in 1979, marking the liberation of the last group of political prisoners.
Massoud Rajavi was the leader of the main opposition to the mullahs’ rule after the 1979 revolution. He opposed the mullahs for violating the people’s basic rights and freedom. He then formed a coalition of opposition groups and personalities named the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
Massoud Rajavi’s efforts turned him to number-one enemy to the mullahs. PMOI/MEK supporters bear the heaviest charges in Iran’s prison.
Furthermore, Iranians called on the international community to prosecute the mullahs’ regime leaders, especially supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the mass murderer Ebrahim Raisi and the regimes’ judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei, for four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg emphasized the Iranian people seeking a democratic republic and rejecting any kind of dictatorship, be it the mullahs or a return to that of Shah’s regime.
In addition, the Iranian Resistance supporters in Gothenburg urged the international community to support the Iran Revolution and take a firm stance against the oppressive regime of the mullahs.
They asked the international community to recognize the right of self-defense of the Iranian people against the religious dictatorship.
Iranian community in Gothenburg demanded the designation of Iran’s regime IRGC as a terrorist organization by the Swedish government and EU, due to its terrorist and warmongering activities and the crimes and repression against Iranian people and protesters.
