Bern, Switzerland—May 25, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian resistance gathered to protest against the United Nations’ plan to commemorate the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the criminal president of the mullahs’ regime.
The protesters recalled Raisi’s record as a serious violator of human rights and his key role in the execution and massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the 1988 massacre.
Throughout his career, whether as the head of the judiciary or as president, Raisi played a direct role in suppressing, imprisoning, torturing, and executing protestors. Holding a memorial for such a criminal against humanity is a violation of all human rights standards and an act of appeasement with the religious and terrorist dictatorial regime ruling Iran for the sake of economic and political interests.
Iranians also carried banners and placards and chanted slogans against the religious dictatorship regime in Iran and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution.
In addition, the demonstrators urged the international community to take a firm policy against the regime’s human rights violations and recognize the Iranian people’s right to self-defense.
The organizers of the rally in Bern also demanded that the IRGC be designated as a terrorist organization by the European Union.
The Iranian community in Bern emphasized the Iranian people seeking a democratic republic and rejecting any kind of dictatorship, be it the mullahs or a return to that of Shah’s regime.
