MEK Supporters Rally at UN Geneva to Protest Executions, Honor 1988 Massacre Martyrs, and Commemorate Reza Rasaei

Geneva, Switzerland—August 16, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran(PMOI/MEK) organized a rally in front of the UN headquarters to protest the increasing wave of executions carried out by the Iranian regime. They also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held in the prisons of the mullahs’ regime in Iran and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution.

Iranian community in Geneva condemned the execution of political prisoner Reza Rasaei and renewed their commitment to continuing the struggle against dictatorship until the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime and the achievement of freedom and justice.

On the eve of the 36th anniversary of the 1988 massacre, supporters of the Iranian resistance in Geneva honored the memory of 30,000 political prisoners who were executed in prisons across Iran by the mullahs’ regime.

MEK supporters in Geneva demanded the trial of the mullahs’ regime leaders for crimes against humanity, in an international court.

During their demonstrations, freedom-loving Iranians demanded the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and member states to refer the case of the regime’s human rights violations to the United Nations Security Council and to hold the leaders of the regime accountable for crimes against humanity.

Iranians demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners from the prisons of the mullahs’ regime in Iran. They also condemned the brutal repression of Iranian women under the pretext of hijab and supported the resistance of Iranian women against the oppression of the regime with the slogan of women, resistance, freedom.

Iranians said that ending appeasement of Iran’s belligerent, terrorist regime, is an imperative to ensure regional, global peace, and security.

Iranians also carried banners and placards and chanted slogans against the religious dictatorship regime in Iran and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian revolution. These slogans included the following:

Iran’s regime holds the record for executions in the world, stop the execution of prisoners and demonstrators.

Don’t make human rights a victim of appeasement with the regime of murderers of Iranian people.

Death to Khamenei, death to the dictator, death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or be it the leader (Khamenei).

In addition, the demonstrators urged the international community to take a firm policy against the regime’s human rights violations and recognize the Iranian people’s right to self-defense.
