Gothenburg, Sweden—September 24, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized a rally in solidarity with the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign for the forth consecutive week, in response to the executions taking place in Iran’s regime prisons.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg protested against the rising wave of executions carried out by the Iranian regime, called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held in the regime’s prisons in Iran, and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution. MEK supporters in Gothenburg demanded the trial of the mullahs’ regime leaders for crimes against humanity in an international court.
Participants at the rally in Gothenburg, Sweden, called for an end to Sweden’s policy of appeasement towards the Iranian regime and demanded that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) be designated as a terrorist organization.
Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg emphasized the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and rejection of any kind of dictatorship, whether it be the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s regime.
They demanded recognition of the resistance and the right of the Iranian people and the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
The Iranians in Gothenburg also expressed their outrage through their slogans and placards regarding the tragic explosion at the Tabas coal mine, which was caused by the regime’s negligence in providing basic safety measures for the miners, leading to the heartbreaking death of dozens of miners. They also expressed solidarity with the miners of Tabas.
