Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Vancouver, Canada on August 31, 2024, to commemorate the beginning of the 60th year since the MEK‘s establishment.
The rally participants reaffirmed their unwavering support for the MEK’s ongoing struggle to establish freedom, democracy, and human rights in Iran. They expressed strong backing for the People’s Mojahedin Organization’s leadership and its efforts to bring about revolutionary change in Iran, opposing the current religious dictatorship.
The Iranian community in Vancouver emphasized their desire for a democratic republic, rejecting both the current theocratic regime and any potential return to a monarchical system. They voiced their support for the MEK‘s vision of a free and democratic Iran.
Furthermore, the demonstrators called on the international community to stand with the Iranian people in their pursuit of change. They urged the Canadian government to take a firm stance against the oppressive rule of the mullahs and support the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom.
This gathering in Vancouver showcased the continued relevance and support for the MEK among Iranians abroad, as the organization enters its sixth decade of activism.
