UK, November 2, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and academics in England who support the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized a book exhibition in Southampton to condemn human rights violations in Iran and show solidarity with the Iranian Revolution.
The event highlighted the critical human rights situation in Iran, focusing on the plight of political prisoners facing death sentences, and called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held by the mullahs’ regime.
The exhibition also urged the UK government to formally designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization and close the Iranian regime’s embassy, a center of espionage and terror. Members of Southampton’s Iranian community called for international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity.
The Academics In Exile Association stated on the X platform: “Today, 02/11/2024, another a solidarity rally took place in Southampton, UK, where participants called on the UK government to designate Iran’s IRGC as a terrorist organization and shut down the Iranian embassy.”
