Gothenburg, Sweden—December 14, 2024: In a celebration held by Syrians residing in Sweden in Gothenburg to rejoice over the fall of the dictatorship in their country, a group of supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) also participated.
They congratulated the Syrian people on the overthrow of the Assad regime and expressed their solidarity with them. The MEK supporters also reminded attendees of the years of support and solidarity provided by the Iranian resistance to the Syrian freedom fighters in their struggle against dictatorship, terrorism, and the crimes of the Assad regime.
They stated that soon, with the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime in Iran, both countries would celebrate victory, freedom, democracy, and the establishment of human rights.
Representatives of the Syrians participating in the gathering, celebrating the overthrow of dictatorship in Syria, gave speeches to thank and express their gratitude to the Iranians supporting the Iranian resistance, as well as the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg also held a separate gathering, chanting slogans against the mullah regime in Iran and calling for the overthrow of the regime. They emphasized that the head of terrorism and warmongering in Tehran is the mullah terrorist regime.
Iranians expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution and urged the Swedish government to shut down the Iranian regime’s embassy as a center of terrorism and espionage. Additionally, they called for the designation of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
Iranians in Gothenburg emphasized the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and their rejection of any form of dictatorship, whether it be the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s regime.
They called for the recognition of the resistance and the right of the Iranian people, along with the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
