Gothenburg, Sweden – January 18, 2025: Supporters of the PMOI held a rally and commemorated the anniversary of Massoud Rajavi’s release from the Shah regime’s prisons in 1979, marking the liberation of the last group of political prisoners. This significant event highlights the struggle for freedom and democracy in Iran.
Additionally, the gathering aimed to showcase support for the 29th Free Iran Telethon for @en_simayazadi, taking place from January 17-19, 2025. This telethon seeks to promote financial independence for the Iranian Resistance and amplify the voice of freedom through Simay-e Azadi, a crucial platform advocating for human rights in Iran.
Freedom-loving Iranians expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution and strongly condemned the severe human rights violations in Iran. They particularly highlighted the alarming rise in executions carried out by the mullahs’ regime and called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held in Iranian prisons.
MEK supporters in Gothenburg demanded that the leaders of the mullahs’ regime be tried in an international court for crimes against humanity.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg reiterated the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic while rejecting all forms of dictatorship—whether under the mullahs or a return to the Shah’s regime.
Furthermore, they urged the international community to recognize the legitimacy of the Iranian people’s resistance and the right of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
