Gothenburg Rally on January 4, 2025, Demands Regime Change in Iran and Supports MEK Resistance Units

Gothenburg – January 4, 2025

Gothenburg, Sweden — January 4, 2025: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered for their first rally of the new year to oppose the regime of the mullahs. They expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance, led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the NCRI, and her Ten-Point Plan for the future of Iran.

The event highlighted the need for international recognition of the Iranian resistance movement and affirmed the right of the Iranian people, along with the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, to defend themselves in their ongoing struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.

Additionally, MEK supporters in Gothenburg emphasized the Iranian people’s aspirations for a democratic republic, unequivocally rejecting both the current mullahs’ regime and any return to monarchical rule under the Shah.

Participants expressed solidarity with the Iranian Revolution and urged the Swedish government to close the Iranian regime’s embassy, labeling it a center of terrorism and espionage. They also called for the designation of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
