Gothenburg, Sweden – January 21, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally in solidarity with the “No to Executions Campaign” campaign, marking the eighteenth consecutive week of their movement. This campaign is a response to the executions carried out in prisons by the Iranian regime.
The 18th week of the gathering in Gothenburg coincided with the first anniversary of the “No to Executions Tuesdays” campaign in prisons across Iran. This week marked the 52nd consecutive Tuesday of strikes by political prisoners in 34 prisons across the country, commemorating their unified struggle against executions.
Supporters of the Iranian Resistance protested the death sentences imposed on political prisoners associated with the PMOI. The event also condemned the Iranian regime’s ongoing crimes against the Iranian people and expressed solidarity with the ongoing Iranian Revolution.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg denounced the rising wave of executions by the Iranian regime, calling for the immediate release of all political prisoners. MEK supporters in Gothenburg further demanded that the leaders of the mullahs’ regime be tried for crimes against humanity in an international court.
Rally participants in Gothenburg urged an end to Sweden’s policy of appeasement toward the Iranian regime and called for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to be designated as a terrorist organization.
Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg reiterated the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and their rejection of any form of dictatorship, whether under the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s rule.
They demanded recognition of the Resistance and the right of the Iranian people and MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
