Australia – January 30-31, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized rallies and exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne to condemn the death sentences of political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI, particularly Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, who face imminent execution. Protesters also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners.
Iranians in Sydney and Melbourne emphasized the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and their rejection of any form of dictatorship, whether it be the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s regime.
They called for the recognition of the resistance and the right of the Iranian people, along with the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
Iranian communities in Sydney and Melbourne specifically demanded that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) be designated as a terrorist organization and called for stronger actions from the Australian Government against the Iranian regime.
