Gothenburg, Sweden – January 22, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally to highlight the escalating human rights violations committed by the Iranian regime. The event also served as a powerful expression of solidarity with the ongoing Iranian Revolution. The rally particularly emphasized the growing number of executions targeting political prisoners.
Attendees were confronted with the harsh reality of the regime’s brutality, especially against individuals affiliated with the PMOI, many of whom face unjust death sentences.

Supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Gothenburg also honored the memory of Alireza Madanchi, a long-standing PMOI member who recently passed away due to a brain aneurysm. Madanchi left behind a shining legacy of 50 years of relentless struggle for freedom against both the Shah’s dictatorship and the clerical regime in Iran.

The Iranian community in Gothenburg voiced their support for a democratic republic in Iran, firmly rejecting all forms of dictatorship, including the mullahs’ regime and any potential return to the Shah’s rule.
The group specifically called for the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Australia and advocated for the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
They also highlighted the importance of recognizing the Iranian people’s resistance, particularly the role of the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, in their fight against tyranny and dictatorship. The participants reaffirmed the Iranian people’s right to self-defense in their struggle for freedom.
