Sheffield, UK – February 18, 2025: ‘Academics in Exile’ Exhibition Exposes Iran’s Human Rights Violations

Sheffield, UK – February 18, 2025

Sheffield, UK – February 18, 2025: The Academics in Exile Association, which supports the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), organized a book and photo exhibition to protest the death sentences imposed on political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI. The organizers condemned the Iranian regime’s ongoing human rights violations and expressed solidarity with the Iranian Revolution.

The exhibition shed light on Iran’s escalating human rights crisis, particularly the plight of political prisoners facing execution. It also called for the immediate release of all political detainees held by the mullahs’ regime.

Participants urged the UK government to officially designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization and shut down the Iranian regime’s embassy, which they described as a hub for espionage and terrorism. Members of Sheffield’s Iranian community demanded international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity.

The Academics in Exile Association shared on X:
“On 18/02/2025, our book stands in Sheffield received overwhelming support! Many signed our petition for regime change, a free and democratic Iran, and an end to executions and torture. The fight for justice and freedom continues.”

The exhibition received a positive response from a diverse audience, with many attendees signing a petition advocating for regime change, democracy, and an end to executions and torture. The academics also called for stricter sanctions against the regime, justice for victims, and recognition of the Iranian people’s right to self-defense.
