Exhibition in Melbourne Highlights Iran’s Human Rights Violations and Calls for an End to Execution Sentences

Melbourne, Australia – February 28, 2025

Melbourne, Australia – February 28, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held an exhibition to raise awareness of the increasing human rights abuses committed by the Iranian regime. The event also served as a powerful show of solidarity with the ongoing Iranian Revolution. The exhibition specifically focused on the rising number of executions of political prisoners.

Attendees were confronted with the harsh reality of the regime’s brutality, particularly towards those affiliated with the PMOI, many of whom face unjust death sentences. This includes Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani both of whom are at risk of imminent execution.

The Iranian community in Melbourne voiced their support for a democratic republic in Iran, firmly rejecting all forms of dictatorship, including the mullahs’ regime and any potential return to the Shah’s rule.

The group specifically called for the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Australia and advocated for the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

They also highlighted the importance of recognizing the Iranian people’s resistance, particularly the role of the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, in their fight against tyranny and dictatorship. The participants reaffirmed the Iranian people’s right to self-defense in their struggle for freedom.

Australian citizens also visited the exhibition, expressing their solidarity with the people of Iran and their fight for democracy, freedom, and human rights.
