Gothenburg, Sweden – March 8, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a gathering in Gothenburg to mark International Women’s Day, drawing attention to the grave human rights violations and ongoing executions in Iran under the current regime. The gathering condemned the Iranian regime’s systematic oppression of women, its brutal execution practices, and gender-based discrimination imposed by the mullahs.
The event served as a strong expression of solidarity with the Iranian Revolution, especially in light of the increasing executions of political prisoners. Attendees were confronted with the harsh reality of the regime’s brutality, particularly towards those affiliated with the PMOI, many of whom face unjust death sentences. Among them are Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, both of whom are at risk of imminent execution.
Participants in the gathering expressed their support for the women’s struggle in Iran, particularly through the slogan “Woman, Resistance, Freedom,” standing in solidarity with the women of Iran, especially those in the MEK’s Resistance Units. This support highlighted the vital role of women members of these units, who are at the forefront of the resistance against the regime’s oppression.
The Iranian community in Gothenburg voiced their unwavering support for a democratic republic in Iran, firmly rejecting all forms of dictatorship, including the mullahs’ regime, and any potential return to the Shah’s rule.
The group called for the immediate closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Sweden and advocated for the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
They also highlighted the crucial role of the Iranian people’s resistance, particularly the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, in their fight against tyranny and dictatorship. Participants reiterated the Iranian people’s right to self-defense in their struggle for freedom.
