Sydney, Australia – April 12, 2025: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held an exhibition in Sydney to raise awareness about the escalating human rights violations committed by the Iranian regime. The event served as a powerful display of solidarity with the ongoing Iranian Revolution, with a particular focus on the recent surge in executions of political prisoners—especially the execution of five individuals in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison.
The exhibition exposed the harsh realities faced by PMOI members and other political detainees, many of whom have been sentenced to death after unjust trials. Among the most urgent cases are Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, both facing imminent execution.
Members of Sydney’s Iranian community voiced strong support for the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran, firmly rejecting all forms of dictatorship—including both theocratic rule under the mullahs and any return to monarchy.
The group called for the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Australia and urged the Australian government to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.
Speakers and attendees emphasized the importance of recognizing the Iranian people’s resistance—especially the efforts of MEK Resistance Units operating within Iran—in their ongoing struggle against oppression. They reaffirmed the Iranian people’s right to defend themselves in their pursuit of freedom and democracy.
Australian visitors to the exhibition expressed solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle, voicing support for democracy, human rights, and an end to the regime’s brutality.
