MEK Supporters Launch Geneva Sit-In to Protest Executions, Demand Political Prisoners’ Release

Geneva, Switzerland – April 28, 2025

Geneva, Switzerland – April 28, 2025 —Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), began a five-day sit-in today at Place des Nations in front of the United Nations Office in Geneva. Running from April 28 to May 2, the protest strongly condemns the Iranian regime’s escalating use of the death penalty, particularly against political prisoners.

Demonstrators are demanding the immediate abolition of the death penalty in Iran and the unconditional release of all political prisoners, particularly those facing imminent execution. Among them are two MEK supporters, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, whose lives are at grave risk due to politically motivated death sentences.

The demonstrators also called on the international community to take firm, practical action against Iran’s clerical dictatorship, which they say is endangering peace through internal repression, export of terrorism, and pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Protesters demanded that regime leaders be held accountable for crimes against humanity in an international court and called for recognition of the organized Iranian Resistance, represented by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the MEK. They expressed support for the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, who are risking their lives to fight for freedom, democracy, and human rights.
