Iranian Resistance Supporters in Brussels Protest Escalating Executions and Call for EU Action

Brussels, June 7, 2025

Brussels, June 7, 2025 – On Saturday, members of the Iranian community in Belgium who support the Iranian Resistance, including the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), staged a demonstration outside the Iranian regime’s embassy in Brussels. The protest condemned the brutal wave of executions in Iran, which has surged to over 1,300 since August 2024, and denounced the death sentences imposed on political prisoners affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) and other political prisoners.

They demanded the immediate release of political prisoners and the abolition of death sentences, as well as the prosecution of Iran’s ruling mullahs in an international court for crimes against humanity.

The demonstrators also expressed alarm over the Iranian regime’s escalating nuclear ambitions. They urged the European Union to take decisive action, including activating the “snapback” mechanism of the nuclear deal to reimpose UN Security Council sanctions.

Additionally, the protesters called for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to be designated as a terrorist organization. They advocated for international support for resistance movements, insurgent youth, and revolutionary forces working to overthrow the current regime.

The rally also paid tribute to those martyred during the Iranian revolution—individuals executed by the regime or killed in popular uprisings—while reaffirming the participants’ dedication to the pursuit of freedom, democracy, justice, and human rights.

The protesters emphasized their vision for a democratic, secular republic in Iran, unequivocally rejecting both the current theocracy and any restoration of the monarchy.

They further called on the international community to recognize the Iranian Resistance and affirm the right of MEK Resistance Units within Iran to defend themselves against the regime’s oppression.
