In Washington, DC, the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) held a powerful photo exhibition on the U.S. National Mall on June 20 and 21, commemorating the 44th anniversary of the nationwide protests in Iran on June 20, 1981. The exhibition honored thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight against tyranny, both under the former Shah and the current clerical regime.
The event highlighted the ongoing struggle of the Iranian people for freedom, justice, and a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear republic as outlined in Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan.
On June 21, a gathering of Iranian resistance supporters took place at the exhibition site. Distinguished guests including Carla Sands, former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark, Linda Chavez, a former White House official, and Rudy Gersten spoke in support of the Iranian resistance and Maryam Rajavi’s democratic solution for Iran without theocracy or monarchy. Representatives of Iranian American communities also voiced their endorsement of the resistance’s legitimate right to fight for regime change.
Honored to speak today to Iranians on the National Mall. They want

The event and speeches underscored the bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress for H.Res.166, which backs a democratic alternative led by the Iranian people themselves. The message was clear: the Iranian people reject both theocracy and monarchy, demanding regime change through their organized resistance, which remains the true guarantor of peace and democracy in Iran.
