Brussels, Belgium – July 16, 2025 – Supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), gathered outside the European Parliament in Brussels to voice their opposition to the clerical regime in Tehran and advocate for a democratic alternative.
The demonstrators rallied in support of the “Third Option” proposed by Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, which calls for democratic change led by the Iranian people and the organized resistance movement. Rejecting both foreign military intervention and appeasement of the regime, they promoted this path as the only viable solution for a free and stable Iran.
Several Members of the European Parliament also attended the rally, delivering speeches in solidarity with the protesters. They expressed support for the demands of the Iranian Resistance and endorsed Maryam Rajavi’s Third Option as a credible framework for achieving a democratic republic in Iran.

Protesters carried banners and chanted slogans in support of a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran. They emphasized the need for a republic based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and the protection of ethnic and religious minorities. Participants firmly rejected both the current theocratic rule and any return to monarchical dictatorship.
In a powerful display, demonstrators staged acts of protest condemning the recent wave of executions in Iran. They called for the immediate halt of executions and demanded the unconditional release of all political prisoners held by the regime.
In their speeches and statements, demonstrators urged the international community to recognize the NCRI and Maryam Rajavi’s comprehensive 10-point plan as the legitimate and democratic alternative to the existing regime. They also called for acknowledgment of the right of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves against ongoing state repression.
The rally in Brussels underscored the growing global support for the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom, justice, and democracy—and sent a clear message to European policymakers: the time has come to side with the Iranian people, not their oppressors.
