On July 27, 2025, the Iranian regime executed political prisoners Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani—supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI)—ignoring widespread international appeals and protests.

Just one day earlier, on July 26, freedom-loving Iranians across the globe organized coordinated rallies and exhibitions to try to stop the executions.

In Hamburg, Germany, protesters held a rally alongside a photo exhibition highlighting the plight of the two prisoners and Iran’s broader human rights abuses. Demonstrations also took place in Malmö and Gothenburg, Sweden, where participants called for urgent international intervention.

In Stockholm, Iranians held a protest in front of the Swedish Parliament, urging lawmakers to take a firm stand against the executions and to speak out in defense of human rights in Iran.

In Paris, France, a public exhibition exposed the regime’s systematic use of executions as a tool of repression. Protesters called for international accountability and justice for victims of state violence.

In Poole, United Kingdom, a protest organized by Iranian Academics in Exile featured both a photo exhibition and a book stall to raise awareness among the British public.

Despite these urgent efforts, the Iranian regime proceeded with the executions on July 27, drawing condemnation from human rights advocates and exiled Iranian communities.
