Urgent Protest in Copenhagen: Five Iranian Political Prisoners Face Imminent Execution

Copenhagen, Denmark – August 8, 2025

Copenhagen, Denmark – August 8, 2025 – Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) rallied in Copenhagen to sound the alarm over the imminent execution of five political prisoners in Iran: Vahid Bani-Amerian, Pouya Ghobadi, Shahrokh Daneshvarkar, Mohammad Taghavi, and Babak Alipour. The Iranian regime has transferred them to Ghezel Hesar Prison, notorious as an execution site, placing their lives in immediate danger.

The protest also condemned the recent state-sanctioned executions of PMOI members Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani, highlighting the Mullahs’ escalating campaign of repression. Demonstrators voiced unwavering support for the PMOI Resistance Units operating inside Iran and reaffirmed their vision for a democratic republic based on freedom, equality, and secular governance, rejecting both theocracy and monarchy .

Protesters demanded:

  • The complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran;

  • The immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners;

  • International recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist tyranny.

The gathering echoed the call of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), to intensify participation in the “No to Executions” campaign. Participants urged the international community to hold the regime accountable for its human rights abuses and to act before these executions are carried out.

This urgent demonstration stood as a powerful act of solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for justice, freedom, and an end to state violence.
