Rise Up for Iran: A Week of Protest Against Oppression at the UN
From September 17 to 24, 2025, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) will gather in New York for a powerful week-long protest rally outside the United Nations. This rally is a direct response to the presence of Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of the Iranian regime, at the UN General Assembly (#UNGA80).
Pezeshkian, under whose presidency more than 1,700 executions have occurred in just one year, embodies a dictatorship that must be held accountable for its brutal oppression and relentless campaign of terror.
Why This Rally Matters
The message is unequivocal: “Expel Pezeshkian, end appeasement, and recognize the Iranian people’s right to overthrow the criminal regime of Khamenei and his puppets.” The protesters demand that the West abandon its policy of appeasement and stand firmly with the Iranian people in their quest for freedom and justice. Members of the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) from across the United States are leading this campaign, urging the international community to condemn the religious and terrorist dictatorship of the mullahs and to support the Iranian resistance.

A Week of Action: September 17-24, 2025
This rally is not a single event but a week-long movement. Starting on September 17, activities will build momentum until the climax on September 23. The protest aims to shine a global spotlight on the regime’s crimes and to demand accountability for leaders like Pezeshkian, who have overseen a reign of terror.
The Culmination: September 23 at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza
On September 23, the rally culminates in a massive gathering at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, 2nd Avenue and 47th Street, NYC, starting at 9 AM. This is not just a protest; it’s a movement. Thousands of Iranian Americans and their supporters will join forces to demand regime change—not imposed from outside, but driven by the Iranian people themselves, for a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran. The event will feature a photo exhibition, a vigil, a media briefing, and a rally, each element amplifying the voices of those silenced by oppression.
Echoes from Brussels to New York
This rally echoes the spirit of the tens of thousands who marched in Brussels on September 6, calling for a future aligned with Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan—a vision for a free, democratic, and non-nuclear Iran. Now, that same energy is being brought to New York. From Europe to America, the call is clear: #NoToShahNoToMullahs.
