Gothenburg, Sweden – September 20, 2025 – Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Gothenburg to reaffirm their support for Maryam Rajavi’s Third Option and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), presenting it as the only democratic alternative to the ruling theocracy.
Protesters also chanted about activating the “snapback” mechanism, declaring that the mullahs’ regime—whether armed with nuclear weapons or not—will be overthrown by the Iranian people and their organized Resistance. They further underscored the pivotal role of the Resistance in exposing the regime’s clandestine nuclear weapons projects.
Participants expressed solidarity with the 2022 nationwide uprising and urged the Swedish government to close the Iranian regime’s embassy, and designating of the IRGC as terrorist organization.
A central theme of the rally was Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for Iran’s future, which calls for universal suffrage, gender equality, freedom of speech and assembly, autonomy for ethnic minorities, separation of religion and state, a non-nuclear Iran, and other democratic reforms. Attendees highlighted that this plan offers a clear and practical roadmap for a free, secular, and democratic republic in Iran.
Speakers condemned all forms of dictatorship—both clerical and monarchical—emphasizing that Iran’s future must be built on democracy, human rights, and the sovereignty of its people.
The rally concluded with a strong call on the international community to stand with the Iranian people, recognize their right to resist tyranny, and support the MEK Resistance Units in their determined struggle for freedom, dignity, and democracy.
