Malmö, Sweden — September 13, 2025: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Malmö to mark the third anniversary of the 2022 nationwide uprising and to show solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and a democratic republic.
The rally featured displays of photos honoring the martyrs of the 2022 uprising, commemorating their sacrifice for freedom. Through placards, banners, and collective chants, participants called for a firm international policy against Iran’s religious dictatorship and condemned ongoing appeasement toward the regime, which continues to oppress the Iranian people—especially women and youth.
Demonstrators denounced the regime’s brutal repression of women under the pretext of enforcing the compulsory hijab and celebrated the courageous resistance of Iranian women with the rallying cry: “Woman, Resistance, Freedom.”
Protesters also demanded the complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran and the immediate, unconditional release of all political prisoners, particularly those facing imminent execution. Placards and slogans further urged that senior regime officials be brought before an international tribunal to face justice for crimes against humanity.
The Iranian community in Malmö emphasized the people’s aspiration for a democratic republic and their rejection of all forms of dictatorship—whether the ruling clerical regime or a return to the Shah’s rule.
The demonstration concluded with calls for recognition of the Iranian Resistance and the right of the Iranian people and MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves in their ongoing struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
