Final Day of Geneva Sit-In Urges End to Executions and Freedom for Iranian Political Prisoners

Geneva, Switzerland – October 10, 2025

Geneva Protest Marks World Day Against the Death Penalty

Geneva, Switzerland – October 10, 2025 — On the occasion of the World Day Against the Death Penalty, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held the third and final day of their rally and sit-in at Place des Nations, in front of the United Nations Office in Geneva. Running from October 8 to 10, the protest strongly condemned the Iranian regime’s escalating use of the death penalty, particularly against political prisoners.

Calls for Immediate Action and Abolition of the Death Penalty

The protesters called the immediate abolition of the death penalty in Iran and the unconditional release of all political prisoners, especially those facing imminent execution. Among them is MEK supporter Mohammad Javad Vafaei-Sani, whose life is in grave danger due to death sentences.

Freedom-loving Iranians in Geneva also expressed their support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her call to expand the “No to Executions” campaign globally. They further urged the international community to prosecute the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity in an international tribunal.

Support for Iran’s Democratic Alternative and Resistance Units

They reaffirmed the Iranian people’s demand for a democratic republic, rejecting both the ruling religious dictatorship and any return to monarchy. The participants emphasized the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran in their ongoing struggle for freedom, democracy, and justice.
