Iranian Resistance Supporters Rally Outside UN in Geneva to Protest Executions in Iran

Geneva, Switzerland – September 30, 2025
Geneva, Switzerland – September 30, 2025

Rally at Place des Nations

On September 30, 2025, while the UN Human Rights Council held its 60th session in Geneva, supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered outside the UN headquarters at Place des Nations. The rally condemned the surge in executions in Iran and called for justice for victims of past and present atrocities. Participants also commemorated the third anniversary of the Zahedan Bloody Friday massacre of September 30, 2022, honoring those killed in the crackdown.

The demonstration included speeches by international figures, members of the Iranian diaspora, and Resistance activists. A photo exhibition displayed images of victims of executions and repression, underlining the heavy human toll of the regime’s policies.

International Calls for Action

Former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt addressed the crowd, emphasizing that executions and repression in Iran are designed to silence dissent but instead have fueled greater resolve for change. She urged the international community and the UN to abandon silence and enforce accountability, stressing that those behind atrocities such as the 1988 massacre must be brought to justice.

Swiss trade unionist Paolo Gilardi reminded participants that Iran leads the world in executions and noted that over 60 UN resolutions on Iran’s human rights record have been ignored. He called on governments, especially in Europe, to prioritize human rights in their foreign policies and to deny Iranian officials the legitimacy and access they currently enjoy.

Voices from the Iranian Resistance

Iranian activist Hossein Imani thanked international supporters and underlined that despite years of uprisings, appeasement policies continue to grant the regime lifelines. He rejected both clerical dictatorship and monarchical alternatives, stressing support for a democratic Iran based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan. He highlighted the role of women in the Resistance and affirmed that the struggle for freedom will not be forgotten or abandoned.

Behzad Naziri recalled the historic September 26 protests in Tehran, when young members of the MEK first publicly called for the overthrow of the clerical dictatorship. He emphasized that the same spirit continues today in Iran’s prisons, streets, and protest movements.

Other speakers included Faeqe Kherad and Amin Naeemi, who also addressed the rally, adding their voices to the call for freedom, justice, and a democratic Iran.

Solidarity and Determination

The Geneva rally sent a clear and unwavering message: the Iranian people are determined to end executions and dictatorship, drawing strength from decades of sacrifice and an organized resistance. Participants called on the UN and democratic governments to recognize this movement as legitimate, hold perpetrators of crimes against humanity accountable, and support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and justice.
