Los Angeles, California – October 11, 2025 — Iranian Americans, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), gathered in Los Angeles to mark the World Day Against the Death Penalty. The demonstrators denounced the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of Iran executions and urged the U.S. administration and the international community to take decisive political action in support of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy.
Condemning Executions and Demanding International Action
Participants called for the abolition of the death penalty in Iran, the release of all political prisoners, and urgent measures to halt imminent executions. Protesters highlighted the cases of Mohammad Javad Vafaei-Sani and Ehsan Faridi, along with 15 other MEK supporters currently at risk of execution. They urged the United States government, the United Nations, and global human rights bodies to act swiftly to save their lives.
Speakers also recalled the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran, stressing that the continuation of executions today underscores the regime’s entrenched culture of impunity. They called for the prosecution of regime leaders responsible for these crimes before an international tribunal.

Participants reaffirmed the Iranian people’s demand for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to monarchy. They emphasized that the true conflict lies between the Iranian regime and the Iranian people, and that the only lasting solution is to empower the people and their organized Resistance to bring about democratic change from within.
