Geneva Protest Marks World Day Against the Death Penalty
Geneva, Switzerland – October 8, 2025 — On the occasion of the World Day Against the Death Penalty, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) launched a three-day sit-in at Place des Nations, in front of the United Nations Office in Geneva. Running from October 8 to October 10, the protest strongly condemns the Iranian regime’s escalating use of the death penalty, particularly against political prisoners.
Calls for Immediate Action and Abolition of the Death Penalty
The protesters are demanding the immediate abolition of the death penalty in Iran and the unconditional release of all political prisoners, especially those facing imminent execution. Among them is MEK supporter Mohammad Javad Vafaei-Sani, whose life is in grave danger due to politically motivated death sentences.
Freedom-loving Iranians in Geneva also expressed their support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her call to expand the “No to Executions” campaign globally. They further urged the international community to prosecute the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity in an international tribunal.
