Ottawa, Canada – November 2025 – Iranian-Canadians, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Ottawa to condemn the Iranian regime’s widespread use of the death penalty as a grave violation of human rights, particularly its execution of political prisoners.
Call to Abolish the Death Penalty in Iran
The rally demanded the complete abolition of capital punishment in Iran and the unconditional release of all political prisoners, especially those facing imminent execution. Organizers also called for senior regime officials to be held accountable before an international tribunal for crimes against humanity.
A Call for Justice and a Free Iran
Participants reaffirmed support for Maryam Rajavi‘s “No to Executions” campaign, advocating for its global expansion. They emphasized the Iranian people’s right to a secular, democratic republic, rejecting both theocracy and monarchy, and highlighted the ongoing efforts of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran fighting for justice and human rights.
