Toronto Rally Calls for an End to Executions and Holding the Iranian Regime Accountable for Its Crimes

Toronto, Canada – November 21, 2025

Condemning Executions and Human Rights Violations

Toronto, Canada – November 21, 2025 – Iranian-Canadians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally condemning the Iranian regime’s widespread use of the death penalty, particularly the execution of political prisoners. Freedom-loving Iranians and MEK supporters stressed the urgent need to end all executions in Iran and voiced strong support for the Iranian people’s ongoing resistance against tyranny.

Demanding the Abolition of the Death Penalty

Participants called for the complete abolition of capital punishment in Iran and the unconditional release of all political prisoners, especially those facing imminent execution. They also urged international accountability, insisting that senior regime officials be brought before an international tribunal for decades of crimes against humanity.

Support for the Iranian People’s Resistance

Demonstrators reaffirmed their backing of Maryam Rajavi‘s “No to Executions” campaign and called for its global expansion. They emphasized the Iranian people’s right to a secular, democratic republic—rejecting both theocracy and monarchy. Speakers highlighted the vital role of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, who continue their efforts to advance justice, human rights, and freedom.

A Call to Canada and the International Community

The rally urged the Government of Canada, the United Nations, and the international community to take firm and immediate action. Attendees called for strong support in this year’s UN resolution on Iran, including condemnation of the regime’s human rights violations and recognition of the 1988 massacre as a crime against humanity. The event underscored Canada’s responsibility to stand with the people of Iran in their struggle for democracy, dignity, and a free future.
