Rally in Solidarity with Iran’s Political Prisoners
On December 14, 2025, in the wake of Human Rights Day (December 10), members of the Iranian American community in San Francisco held a rally and photo exhibition in solidarity with Iran’s political prisoners. The event, organized by supporters of the Iranian Resistance, denounced the Iranian regime’s escalating use of the death penalty, particularly against political detainees, and joined in the nationwide “No to Execution” campaign.
Hunger Strike and Call for Accountability
Community members also participated in a one-day hunger strike as part of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” movement, which has spread across 55 prisons and 98 weeks in Iran. Through this action, participants echoed the voices of those silenced behind bars and demanded the unconditional release of all political prisoners, especially those at risk of imminent execution. They further urged the international community to hold the Iranian regime accountable for crimes against humanity and to prosecute its senior officials before international tribunals.
Remembering Martyrs and Political Prisoners
To underscore their protest, participants displayed photos of Iranian political prisoners and university students currently facing long-term prison sentences or the death penalty for their activism, including 22-year-old Tabriz student Ehsan Faridi, who has been sentenced to death. The rally also featured photos of student martyrs from the 2022 uprising, highlighting the continuity of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom across generations.

A Call for Freedom and Justice
The rally amplified a message that the regime seeks to suppress: Iranians want freedom, democracy, and a republic based on the full separation of religion and state—where no one is executed for their beliefs, and women and youth can live without fear.
Support for Maryam Rajavi’s “No to Executions” Initiative
The event highlighted NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi’s “No to Executions” initiative and called for its global expansion. Participants reaffirmed their support for regime change toward a secular, democratic republic that rejects both theocracy and monarchy, and they voiced solidarity with the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran—those risking their lives in the struggle for justice and a free Iran.
