Weekly Rally Against Executions in Gothenburg
Gothenburg, Sweden – January 27, 2025 – Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Gothenburg to mark the 105th consecutive week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign. The movement protests the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of executions and systematic repression.
Participants strongly condemned the Iranian regime’s escalating executions, and the disappearance of protesters, as well as the risk of mass executions and silent deaths in Iran regime’s prisons, calling for the immediate annulment of all death sentences and the unconditional release of political prisoners.
Iranians in Gothenburg also expressed strong solidarity with the nationwide protests in Iran. Participants chanted anti-regime slogans to voice their support for compatriots who have risen up inside the country.
Global Call to Expand the “No to Executions” Campaign
Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg expressed their support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her call to expand the “No to Executions” campaign globally.
They reaffirmed that the presence of Iranian Resistance supporters in cities like Gothenburg is a pledge that political prisoners in Iran are not alone and that their struggle is neither forgotten nor invisible. The Iranian community in Gothenburg stood united—against execution, against oppression, and in defense of life, dignity, and a free Iran. Protesters also called for the prosecution of the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity before an international tribunal.

Finally, the demonstrators reaffirmed the Iranian people’s call for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to monarchy. They highlighted the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran in their ongoing fight for freedom and justice.
