Houston, Texas — January 26, 2026 — Members of the Iranian American Community in Texas (Houston) held a powerful gathering on January 26, featuring a photo exhibition and a moving candlelight vigil in solidarity with nationwide protests in Iran. The event was organized by supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the Iranian Resistance, drawing members of the Iranian diaspora and human rights advocates.
The photo exhibition honored the martyrs of Iran’s ongoing uprising, paying tribute to those who have lost their lives in the struggle for freedom and human dignity. Following the exhibition, participants took part in an emotional candlelight vigil, remembering the fallen and reaffirming their commitment to the Iranian people’s quest for a free and democratic future.
During the gathering, demonstrators chanted anti-regime slogans and expressed solidarity with their compatriots inside Iran who continue to resist repression. They carried photographs of the uprising’s victims and displayed banners reflecting the core demands of protesters across Iran, including calls for genuine regime change led by the Iranian people themselves. Slogans such as “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs!” underscored their rejection of all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic.
In a message shared on social media, the Iranian American Community of Texas expressed pride in hosting the event, describing it as a powerful tribute to fallen heroes and a symbol of unity in the fight for freedom and human dignity.
