Ottawa and Toronto, Canada — January 3, 2026 — In solidarity with the nationwide uprising in Iran and its brave protesters, freedom-loving Iranians, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), held rallies in Ottawa and Toronto. Participants braved snowy, sub-zero temperatures and chanted anti-regime slogans to express their support for compatriots who have risen up inside Iran.

Demonstrators called for the establishment of a free and democratic republic in Iran, rejecting all forms of autocracy—whether monarchical or theocratic. They held pictures of the martyrs of the uprising and carried banners echoing the demands of protesters in Iran, including “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs.”

The rallies sent a powerful message to the international community to stand with the people of Iran—not with any form of dictatorship—and to support their ongoing struggle for freedom, justice, and democracy.
