Brussels, Belgium — January 9, 2026 — Despite snow, rain, and freezing winds, many supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including those of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), held a rally in front of the European Parliament in Brussels in solidarity with the nationwide protests in Iran that erupted on December 28, 2025.

Braving the harsh winter weather, participants reaffirmed the call of their compatriots inside Iran for a free and democratic republic. They carried banners and portraits of the martyrs of the uprising, voicing the slogan: “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran.”

The demonstrators once again rejected all forms of tyranny—whether monarchical or theocratic—calling for the establishment of a free, democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state.

A number of Belgian and international political figures including MEPs took part in the gathering, addressing the crowd and expressing their support for the Iranian people’s uprising and their struggle for freedom, justice, and a democratic republic that rejects both the Shah’s and themullahs’ dictatorships.

The rally once again sent a clear message to the global community: stand with the Iranian people in their quest for freedom and democracy, not with any form of dictatorship.
