Stockholm, Sweden – January 1, 2026 — Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally in front of the Swedish Foreign Ministry, braving heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, to express solidarity with the nationwide protests in Iran that began on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The protesters emphasized that the people of Iran will continue their uprising until the overthrow of the mullahs’ dictatorial regime and that they will carry the voice of the Iranian protesters’ uprising to the international community.
Demonstrators called for fundamental political change in Iran and the establishment of a democratic republic, emphasizing that the country’s future must be determined solely by its people. They rejected all forms of dictatorship, chanting slogans such as “regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs!” to underscore their opposition to both the former monarchical system and the current clerical regime.
Participants also highlighted the courage of protesters inside Iran who continue to risk their lives for freedom, justice, and democratic rights. The rally sent a clear message to the international community to stand with the people of Iran—not with any form of dictatorship—and to support their aspiration for a free, democratic, and republican Iran.
